We hope to build a society that is dedicated to collective environmental and social responsibility and are confident that through the sincere hopes and actions of many our goal can be achieved.  The Climate Change Allies Program aims to spread Eco-Literacy and promote environmentally responsible ways of living, offering all people a practical option to compensate for their greenhouse gas emissions.  Through the reforestation of native trees, all parts of society can take concrete action to reduce the impact of climate change. 

 

According to experts, there are 3 numbers that best explain global warming. 

 

275= From the beginning of mankind up until 200 years ago, the atmosphere contained a healthy and stable 275 parts per million of carbon dioxide (proportion of C02 molecules in the atmosphere to all other molecules).

 

387= This is the level of C02 (in parts per million) in the atmosphere today.  387 ppm is the highest level of C02 in the planet’s known history, a sign that the environment is in significant danger.  Furthermore, climate changes are taking place at a much more rapid pace than scientists had previously predicted. 

 

350= Global goal is to return to a safe level of 350 ppm.  QUOTE – James Hansen (world-renowned NASA scientist and the first scientist to warn about climate change, having done so over 20 years ago)

   

 We are a private initiative that wishes to serve society by contributing to the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of both freshwater resources and the environment in general. 

It has been proven that reforestation is one of the most effective and economical solutions to mitigate climate change due to the numerous services that trees provide us with, including the neutralization of carbon. 

 

During 2009, neutralizing carbon emissions through the ecological sticker for cars, the RSE program, Green Tour or sponsoring a plant through “Give Life with a Postcard” you are playing a roll in reforestation projects in the Tenorio-Miravalles biological corridor and ecologically important farms in Heredia, mainly.  Join us in our mission so that living with environmental responsibility becomes a movement with more force behind it each time.
